Hello little,
it is correct, to remind intersted users of e-scooter, that the maximum power is not available for a long time. My opinion is, if anybody wants to buy an e-scooter, he has to inform himself about the technology. It is not important, that the scooter woudn´t reach the top speed, promissed by the dealer, but it is necessary to know, that there is limmited energy in the battery. If you floor the acellerator, you waste energy and may be, you would not come home because the battery is empty. Certainly, a powerfull motor is anabled to take more energy, but if you reduce the throttle, even a 4kW Motor will need only 500W to keep the scooter on average speed and than, there is no difference of energy turnover whatever you have a 2kW or a 6kW machine.
Electrical machines are very economical, they only take the energy from the battery is necessary to deliver the demand torque.
Indeed a 100 kW machine would not take more then perhaps 1KW in idle running for fan and friction. If you remove the fan and reduce friction to zero, it would not need any energy at all.
So it is not so important to have a very powerfull machine, but sometimes it is good to have.
Sorry my poor english
