I can't believe that the BMS (firmware) of M+ is so different from the N-series with Panasonic cells. While the M+ and the NGt & Npro use the same model Panasonic battery cell.

I strongly believe its some backwards compatibility problem.. niu fitted old parts on a 'new' model.. wrote new software, and it doesn't fit together too well.. and it all comes from the pressure of wanting to be the first to release a stunning electrical scooter, before others do.. the m+ was probably put on the market a bit too quick. and, we, first backers, pay the price sadly.. for buying an 'unfinished' product..

Ich bin der festen Überzeugung, dass es ein Abwärtskompatibilitätsproblem gibt. Ich habe alte Teile in ein 'neues' Modell eingebaut. Ich habe neue Software geschrieben und sie passt nicht so gut zusammen einen umwerfenden Elektroroller herauszubringen, bevor es andere tun. Ich habe seit gestern ein neues U3 und seit dem versuche ich die Anbindung nichts geht Uhr Zeit fehlerhaft. Geschwindigkeit 1+2 hängt Fehler Code 63 heute war ich am roller 5 Stunden probiert michts geht aber das Problem habe ich nicht alleine so wie es aussieht

Unbelievable, KSR just keeps exchanging the ECU u3, while there are enough cases where this has not been successful, and the first German success story has not been reported here yet.
I find the role of the importer quite questionable.

Unglaublich, KSR tauscht einfach immer wieder das ECU u3 aus, während es genügend Fälle gibt, in denen dies nicht erfolgreich war, und die erste deutsche Erfolgsgeschichte wurde hier noch nicht berichtet.

Ich habe heute meine zweite ECU U3 bekommen.
- Auf der Verpackung stand "M+"
- SW: TRA01E07
- HW: NXA01E21
Das liess mich schonmal hoffen.
Eingebaut, Akku ran und Hurra, nach Sekunden GPS- UND GSM-Symbol da, kein Fehler 67, Mode 1 und 2 funktionieren wieder normal.

QR-Code wurde vorher schon eingescannt (geht aber auch über https://niu.com/ecu/EIDXXX, "XXX" ist die Seriennummer der neuen ECU)
"Activating SIM-Card" ... "Uploading Data..." das war's, 4x die 10 Minuten beim Händler versucht, 2x zuhause - nichts.

Fazit soweit: Sobald die Kiste Strom hat, muss das GSM-Symbol sofort da sein. Ist es nicht da, kann nichts funktionieren. Das hätten NIU und KSR ca. 93 Emails vorher mal schreiben können. Die HW und Software der ersten ECU U3 waren falsch, die Versionen hatte ich ihnen mehrmals geschrieben und immer wieder nachgefragt. Das wurde hartnäckig ignoriert.

Was da jetzt nicht funktioniert könnte die Aktivierung der Sim sein oder der Server wollte heute nicht. Daß das nicht immer auf Anhieb klappt, ist ja bekannt. 6x 10 Minuten ist aber etwas zuviel.
Zeit für eine weitere Email an KSR und NIU.

Nachtrag: Wenn ihr eine neue ECU U3 bekommen sollt, fragt den Händler nach HW und SW der ECU, bevor ihr hinfahrt. Wenn die SW nicht TRA01E07 ist, dann ist was falsch.
Der Tacho zeigt übrigens wieder etwas schneller an und die Batterieanzeige scheint wieder wie vorher zu sein. 33% vom vollen Akku für 28km verbraucht kommt hin.

Conclusion so far: As soon as the box has electricity, the GSM symbol must be there immediately. If it is not there, nothing can work. NIU and KSR could have written this in approx. 93 emails in advance. The HW and SW of the first ECU U3 were wrong, the versions I had written several times and repeatedly asked. That was stubbornly ignored.

What is not working right now could be the activation of the Sim or the server did not want it today. That this does not always work right away is well known. But 6x 10 minutes is a bit too much.
Time for another email to KSR and NIU.

Addendum: If you should get a new ECU U3, ask the dealer for HW and SW of the ECU before you go there. If the SW is not TRA01E07, then something is wrong.
By the way, the speedometer shows a little faster again and the battery indicator seems to be as before. 33% of the full battery consumed for 28km fits.

I just got a message from my dealer that there is a new update that will solve the problems.
I think he means a firmware upgrade..

Why can't you make the update OTA? Does your dealer have a newer file to update the firmware by cable with his H1-tool?

mmm cancel that.. the dealer got an email from the importer about the new u3 ecu and thought that would solve my problems..
they already installed the new u3

the knowledge level of the dealers isn't optimal, that's for sure..

My first assumption was that your dealer was going to load a new BMS firmware, but perhaps your dealer wanted to inform Diana, who is still waiting for a u3.
Besides, do you still drive around with the test battery without any problems?

It is very curious, that the SW: TRA01E07 bin-file is not available to update the HW: NRA01E20 devices with the H1 by the dealer.

I had NRA before, now it's NXA, which you have, too. This makes me believe, that this hardware has a main difference which doesn't let it work in germany.

Ich hatte vorher NRA, jetzt NXA, die Du auch hast. Das lässt mich glauben, daß NRA in Deutschland gar nicht funtionieren kann.

I wrote to Niu and KSR again:

Hello,

Today we assembled the new (second) ECU U3 to my scooter.
It had written on it:
SW: TRA01E07
HW: NXA01E21
After seconds, the GSM-icon was showing up immediately and no error 67.
Mode 1 and 2 are working normally again.

Then we started the activation of the new ECU with the scan of it's sticker (4 times 10 mins.) and then with the link from Astrid (2x 10 Mins.), under free sky and at twoo different locations.
It always runs into the timeout.

My conclusion so far: You could have told us, that the GSM-icon must show up immediately after powering up. All attempts before were useless without the GSM-icon, this does not show up only after the Sim is activated.
The HW and SW of the first U3 was propably wrong (for the german market?).
There are several guys from germany in the forum with the same symptoms I had before (no GSM and error 67) and not one of them succeeded up to now.
Two guys from NL (not KSR) had the same HW and SW I have now and both succeeded.
I wrote the versions before at least twice and I asked about it, if it can or should work. You ignored these questions stubbornly.

So why is it now stuck in step 1 of the upgrade process? Is the Sim activated now?
PLEASE check this in your database and in case not, please activate it remotely. It is reported in a forum that you can do this!
