Hallo,
maybe there is a hardware problem in Flash memory of the Controller, loosing the (succesfull saved) input after switch off. My controller also is not able to save its model type to correct type. But there is no problem in changing and saving the parameter settings (current, voltage etc.).
You could try the maximum EM-30s settings: 35A busbar current 50A sport Mode in EM-30s configuration.
Votol-Software is misterious.
Are You Sure, to have ordered a hub motor type of the Controller?

This looks not like a software problem. The software reacts normal. if I understand You the right way, a long time working controller had suddenly lost its user settings.
The programming of new settings in the software works, including the success-message and reaction.
But after switch off the voltage, all user settings disappear.

That looks like a hardware problem in Controller electronics.
