Hi,

thats no problem.

If you have basic electronic skills:

Just buy a LilyGo T-CAN485 and a Honda 6 Pin diag plug from AliExpress or eBay and flash my firmware onto it: https://git.0-c.de/Crash_Override/NIU_C ... eryChecker

I am working on a One-Click flashing solution but it is not ready yet. So follow instructions on git.

Then you can charge your batteries with the 3rd party charger. I recommend to open your charger up and limit the voltage to 82,6V, to have some headroom to max voltage of the cells. There are often small potentiometers on the control PCB.

Otherwise I have one T-CAN and a Diag lead left, I can ship you.

Do not exceed 10 Amps of charging current if you use the original socket. You can go up to 20Amps charge current (I tested so far) but with a dedicated charging lead connected to the FOC. https://elektroroller-forum.de/viewtopi ... 39#p364739

Yes, can I buy it from you? A pre flashed T-CAN? I bought a Lilly on AliExpress, but I would prefer it preflashed by you. I'd like to enable battery charging on start up, I think that's one of your latest versions. Thank you!

I have another question. The Honda 6pin connector is necessary for charging the batteries or just for the testing tool?

You need to get the CAN messages into your EVO. The way without soldering a extra socket is to use the already present diag socket.

At the moment there are not charge plugs 2+7 available to buy separate.

I have one left here, I can ship to you.

Okay I thought I needed to solder the Can High and Can Low to the charging cable, so it could transmit to the charging port. Would you show me a picture of the Honda 6Pin connection for charging? Thanks!

And please tell me a way I can pay you for the Lilly Can charger emulator. You can send me a private message :)

Hi! Yes, get a Lilygo T-CAN485 and flash Crash_Override's firmware. You'll need an original EVO charger connector and a 12V source, either from the EVO 12V battery or from an external 12V power supply and connect it safely.

I've already cut my NIU original cable to provide 84v to the original socket. Can I use this diagram to connect everything directly to the Scooter's charging socket? Or I should use the LillyGo connected to the diagnosis Honda 6 pin socket and the 84v to the charging socket? Thanks!

Translated to German:

Danke!

Either will work. I use my setup to charge the batteries outside of the scooter, so everything goes into the original plug.
AFAIK, zock3r1608 uses a XT60 connector for 82,6V charger and Honda 6 pin connector for Lilygo T-CAN485, it works just as well.

Thanks for your answer. I will then try to install everything to charge with the original socket. Just to know, on the diagram you sent there are different colours for the cables. Do they match with the original cables inside the original charger lead? Thanks!

Danke!

You're welcome. Yes, they match with the original EVO plug cable colours. Please note this isn’t intended as a set of instructions, and I can’t be held liable for any damage. Basic electrical‐engineering knowledge is assumed and it’s still wise to verify all pins and cables with a multimeter.

Hello guys! I received my LillyGo TCAN from Aliexpress, I flashed it with zock3r1608's firmware and now I can charge my scooter! Thank you so much for the code and the explanations. I noticed that when the LillyGo TCAN is connected to the scooter's charging socket, it doesn't need the external 12V input, so I decided not to install it, since I will charge only while connected to the NIU EVO.
Again, you saved my scooter with all this information and I'm so grateful.

I wanted to donate to @zock3r1608 but I couldn't find the PayPal or Kofi, please send it to me so I can donate.

Greetings from Spain!

In German:

Hallo Leute!

Hey,

nice its working for you. Did you solder on the original Charging Lead or how do you exactly realize this. A picture would be nice too :-)

Sorry had not much time last days.
